Overview

This video explains how to use the Vectric tool database to organize tools by material and machine. It covers the database interface, adding/removing materials and machines, the difference between tool geometry and cutting data, and how to associate a single tool with multiple material-specific settings.

Steps

Open the Tool Database

Section titled “Open the Tool Database”
  1. Click the Toolpath menu.
  2. Click the Tool Database button to open the dialog.

Add a Material

Section titled “Add a Material”
  1. Beside the Material dropdown, click the Material Management button.
  2. In the Material Management dialog, click the plus icon to add a new material.
  3. Name the material, e.g. Plywood or Sign foam.
  4. Click Apply, then OK.
