How to use job templates in Vectric software | Efficiency Tools

Overview

This tutorial explains how to create and use job templates in Vectric software. It covers saving common material-thickness templates, reusing a template for new customer jobs, editing templates, and building an interchangeable project template with toolpaths for repeatable sign production.

Steps

1. Create a material thickness template

   • Go to File > Close.
   • Create a new file with job setup: 24“ x 24“, thickness 0.25“, material surface Z0, XY datum bottom left.
   • Click File > Save As Template.
   • Save as MDF025 in a sheets folder. This creates a .crvt template file.

2. Create additional thickness templates from the same job setup

   • Use Set Job Dimensions and change thickness to 0.5.
   • File > Save As Template → save as MDF05.
   • Repeat for 0.75“ → MDF075, then 1“ → MDF1.
