Cannot Keep Overlap Weld Error Message

Overview

This video explains why the “Keep Overlap” weld operation fails with an error, and what conditions must be met before it can work successfully in Vectric Aspire.

Steps

1. Ensure you have two closed vectors in your workspace that overlap each other.
2. Select both overlapping vectors.
3. Click the “Keep Overlapping Areas” (weld) icon.
4. If the selection is invalid, the error message “Invalid Vector Selection” appears — confirm the vectors are closed and selected.

Key Points / Warnings

• Both vectors must be closed vectors.
• Both vectors must be selected before clicking the weld icon.
• The vectors must actually overlap each other.
• If no vectors are selected or the selection is invalid, you will get the error: “Invalid Vector Selection.”
