How to transform vectors in Vectric software | Editing Objects

This video explains how to use Transform mode in Vectric software to scale, move, rotate, and reposition vectors. It covers accessing transform handles, precise value entry, changing rotation pivot points, and transforming multiple objects simultaneously.

  1. Go to the Design tab → Edit Objects and click Transform mode.
    • Alternatively, select a vector, then click it again to enter transform mode.
  2. Use the corner handles to scale the object in both X and Y.
    • Values update in the X/Y size fields as you drag.
    • Select a corner handle to enable proportional scaling: changing one field automatically adjusts the other.
  3. Use the side handles (top, bottom, left, right) to scale along a single axis only.
    • Only one size field is available; enter a value and press Enter to apply.
  4. Move the object by clicking and dragging it with the move cursor.
  5. Rotate the object using the rotation handle at the top.
    • Drag the handle manually, or enter a specific angle value (e.g., 180).
  6. Adjust the rotation pivot point by dragging the target icon in the center of the selection to a new location. The object will rotate around this new pivot.
  7. To transform multiple objects, hold Shift and left-click each additional object. A combined bounding box appears, so scaling and rotation affect all selected objects together.
  • The cursor changes shape to indicate transform mode, movement, or rotation.
  • Proportional scaling uses both X and Y fields together; use side handles for non-proportional scaling.
  • The pivot point can be moved to any location, including outside the object, to control rotation precisely.
  • When transforming multiple objects, the bounding box encapsulates all selected vectors and scales/rotates them as a group.
  • Press Ctrl+Z to undo a transform if the result is not desired.
  • If an object moves off the worksheet, simply drag it back into place with the move cursor.
