Appy Change Message in the Vectric Software

This video explains the “Apply Changes” message shown in the Vectric tool database when you modify a tool’s parameters. It demonstrates how clicking Apply, OK, or Cancel affects whether your edits are saved.

  1. Open the tool database and select a tool (e.g., a half-inch end mill).
  2. Change a parameter, such as pass depth from 0.25 to 0.125.
  3. Click Cancel — the software asks whether to apply changes, disregard them, or cancel altogether.
  4. Click Cancel in the prompt to make no changes.
  5. Click Apply in the prompt, then close the tool database.
  6. Reopen the tool database and select the same tool to confirm the pass depth is now 0.125.
  7. Repeat the process, change pass depth back to 0.25, and click OK.
  8. Reopen the tool database to verify the change was saved.
  • Both Apply and OK save your tool changes.
  • If you accidentally click Cancel, the software will ask you to choose: apply changes, disregard changes, or cancel the action.
  • Selecting Cancel in the confirmation prompt aborts the change without saving.
  • Always verify your tool settings after closing the database, especially if you clicked Apply instead of OK.
