Cannot Create Boundary Vector in the Vectric Software

This video explains why the “Create Boundary Vector” command fails in Vectric Aspire when a 3D component is present but not selected, and how to resolve the error.

  1. Ensure you have a 3D component in the 2D or 3D view.
  2. Select the component you want to use for boundary creation.
  3. Click the Create Boundary Vector icon.
  4. The boundary vector is created around the selected component.
  • If no component is selected, you will see: “No selected components” when clicking the icon.
  • If nothing is present in the 2D or 3D view, you will get: “Cannot create boundary vector without anything in the 2D or 3D view.”
  • Even if a component exists in the project, it must be explicitly selected before creating a boundary vector.
