How to draw a circle in Vectric software | Creating Vectors

Overview

This video demonstrates how to draw and edit circles in Vectric software. It covers the Draw Circle tool, mouse-drag drawing with precise radius/diameter values, and how to adjust circles after creation.

Steps

Go to the Design tab and, under Create Vectors, select the Draw Circle icon.
In the Draw Circle form, choose Radius or Diameter mode depending on the dimension you want to specify.
To draw by mouse:
- Click the left mouse button to set the circle’s center point.
- Hold the button and drag outward to set the size.
- Release when the circle is the desired size.
To edit the size after drawing:
- Use the displayed radius (or diameter) field next to the circle.
- Click the field, delete the current value, type a new value, and press Enter. The circle updates automatically.
To create more circles with the same size, click at the desired center points quickly without dragging.
To move an existing circle, click and drag its center point to a new location.
To edit an already created circle, hold Shift and click the circle, then drag the radius handle to resize it or use the radius field to enter an exact value.
To create a circle using exact coordinates:
- Enter the desired X/Y center position and the radius/diameter value in the form.
- Click Create to place the circle at that location.

Key Points / Warnings

The field displayed while dragging shows the radius by default; switch to Diameter in the form to see and enter the diameter.
When in Diameter mode, editing the displayed field adjusts the radius, not the diameter. A dashed line in the drawing indicates the radius being adjusted.
Use Undo if you need to revert a change, such as an accidental resize.
To select an existing circle for editing, remember to hold Shift and click it; otherwise, a simple click may create a new circle or move the existing one.
