Create Components in Vectric Aspire V11
Overview
Section titled “Overview”This tutorial shows how to create 3D components from closed vectors in Vectric Aspire. It explains the available shape profiles in the Create Shape tool, how to use Blend to Inner Vector, and demonstrates three different ways to create similar star-shaped components with sweep tools.
Create a Component from a Closed Vector
Section titled “Create a Component from a Closed Vector”- Select a closed vector, such as a star.
- Go to the Modeling tab and click Create Shape.
- Choose a profile:
- Domed
- Pyramid / Angular
- Concave
- Smooth
- Flat
- Sweep
- Set the Base Height and Shape Height.
- Choose a height mode:
- No Limit
- Limit to Height
- Scale to Exact Height
- Click Apply.
Use Sweep with a Custom Profile
Section titled “Use Sweep with a Custom Profile”- Click the Sweep profile option in the Create Shape dialog.
- Select the closed vector to sweep around.
- Choose a profile vector. The profile can be an open vector.
- Adjust Base Height and Shape Height, then click Apply.
Use Blend to Inner Vector
Section titled “Use Blend to Inner Vector”- Offset a closed vector inward to create a second vector.
- Select both the outer and inner vectors.
- Open Create Shape.
- Choose a profile, such as Domed or Pyramid.
