How to make a toolpath setup sheet in Vectric software | Efficiency Tools

This video demonstrates how to use the Create Job Sheet tool in Vectric Aspire V12 to generate a standalone HTML setup sheet for CNC machining. It covers generating job sheets from toolpaths, controlling which layers appear, handling multi-sheet projects, and using visual warnings for material-through cuts.

  1. Open a project with toolpaths already created and verified in the preview.
  2. Check material setup before generating a job sheet – confirm material thickness, XY datum, Z zero position, rapid Z gaps, and clearance values.
  3. Generate a job sheet:
    • Left-click Create Job Sheet (also available under the Toolpath menu) to save a .html file.
    • Hold Ctrl and left-click the tool icon to save and automatically open the HTML file in your default web browser.
  4. Review the generated HTML file – it includes:
    • Project file name and job layout with vector preview.
    • Material setup block with dimensions and home/start positions.
    • Toolpath summary with tool names, tool numbers, and estimated times.
    • Individual toolpath breakdowns with type, feed rate, plunge rate, spindle speed, tool name, cut depth, pass depth, tool number, and stepover.
  5. Control which layers appear in the job sheet by turning off unwanted layers before generating the sheet. Only visible layers are shown in the layout.
  6. Save multiple job sheets with different names if needed (e.g., one per layer).
  7. For multi-sheet projects:
    • Select the toolpath groups for the sheets you want to include.
    • Click Create Job Sheet without holding Ctrl – Vectric appends _Sheet1, _Sheet2, etc. to each generated file.
    • Open the generated files from your file explorer to review each sheet individually.
  • Job sheets are standalone HTML files that can be opened offline in any web browser, printed, or shared.
  • Holding Ctrl while clicking Create Job Sheet only opens the first generated file – use it when generating a single sheet, not for multi-sheet batch exports.
  • The job sheet layout reflects only the layers that are currently visible/turned on.
  • If a toolpath cut depth exceeds the material thickness, the max cut depth appears highlighted in red in the job sheet to warn that it cuts through the material.
  • The estimated time and visual toolpath icons are pulled directly from the toolpath list.
  • Job sheet notes are populated from any job notes saved in the project.
  • Always verify rapid Z gaps, Z gap material, and clearance values for your specific machine before cutting.
