Using the Create Texture Area option in Vectric ASPIRE

The Create Texture Area tool is located on the Modeling tab, top row, right-hand side. It generates repeating 3D component patterns (for example, fish scales) from a single component. Unlike manual array copying, it lets you preview and adjust spacing, offsets, and rotation properties without deleting and recreating the pattern. This tool is only available in Aspire because it works with components.

  1. Create the base component
Draw a vector shape (for example, an oval), then create a 3D component from it. In the example, a dome profile with a limited height is used, with a small negative oval component set to Add to create an indent in each scale.

  2. Select the component
Select the component that will be the repeating element.

  3. Open Create Texture Area
Click the Create Texture Area icon on the Modeling tab. The dialog opens with controls for X/Y movement and row offsets.

  4. Set spacing and offsets
    Enter values for:

    • X offset
    • Y offset
    • Second row X offset
    • Second row Y offset
  5. Click Apply
The pattern is generated. If you are not happy
