How to select vectors in Vectric software | Editing Objects
Overview
Section titled “Overview”This video explains how to select vectors in Vectric software using Selection Mode and mouse-drag selection boxes. It covers left-click selection, deselecting by clicking empty space, and the difference between crossing and window selection behavior.
- In the Edit Objects section, click the Selection Mode tool to enter selection mode.
- With Selection Mode active, left-click a vector to select it.
- Left-click empty space to deselect the current vector.
- To use a selection box:
- Click and drag from right to left over your vectors. Any vector that touches the dashed selection box is selected.
- Click and drag from left to right over your vectors. Only vectors that are fully inside the selection box are selected.
Key Points / Warnings
Section titled “Key Points / Warnings”- Right-to-left drag uses a crossing selection — partial/overlapping vectors get selected.
- Left-to-right drag uses a window selection — vectors must be completely enclosed to be selected.
- In the example, an S-shaped vector is not selected with left-to-right drag because the top of its curve extends outside the box.
- Use empty space clicks to quickly clear your current selection.
