How to convert text to curves in Vectric software | Creating Vectors

Overview

This video demonstrates how to convert a text object into editable vector curves in Vectric software. Once converted, the text is no longer a text entity and can be edited as individual vector shapes.

Steps

1. Select the text object you want to convert.
2. (Optional) To verify it is still a text entity, use the Draw Text tool and edit the text. The text will update as expected.
3. With the text selected, click the Convert Text to Curves button.
4. The text will now display with a dashed line instead of a solid pink line, indicating it has become individual vectors.
5. You can now select, move, scale, or node-edit each character independently.

Key Points / Warnings

• After conversion, the object is no longer a text entity. Opening the Draw Text tool will not select or edit it.
• The change in selection display (solid line to dashed line) confirms the text has been converted to curves.
• Once converted, all characters are separate vector objects and can be individually modified for design or aesthetic purposes.
